About

Bonjour & Welcome to Chanteuse Designs.

I created Chanteuse Designs in 2006 by bringing together all the things that I love and things I would like to see more of in the world. It all began when I wanted to make market bags to keep the world from using plastic bags. Low and behold, here I am making all sorts of things trying to make the world a better place. One bag at a time. Locally, sustainably, sensibly!

Be inspired to live the lightest and brightest footprint for this planet. If you share this passion and want to make a difference in this world, know that you can!  Start one step at a time. Join me and enjoy.

And remember ………Wag more, bark less.

Kathleen, you are such a delight I met you Saturday 2/2/13 at Public Market in Seattle. We stood and chatted about Virginia, sewing and stories of blind sewing. I have been telling everyone about meeting a new ‘ friend’ at the Market. I am loving your website and will definitely share it with friends.
Just thought I should and would drop by for another little visit with you via the Internet. I did come home and sewed a bit I am making fleece sleeves for lavender heating bags. This year I should be able to use all my own lavender from my garden in the bags I make! So excited. Of course since I cannot grow rice I will continue to purchase that I want to try finding a Carolina Gold rice since it is from the south, just like me! ;)
    Have a great day!Claudia

      Claudia,

It was my pleasure. I can’t thank you enough for stopping by and chatting on your holiday! It was such a treat……and I am still jealous about the Thunderbird!! Thanks so much for sharing my work with your friends. I can’t tell you how happy that makes an artist, especially me! I sure miss chatting about Virginia and Williamsburg, so next time you are in town don’t hesitate to stop by. You have a waiting ear. Just let me know in advance so I can be at the market.

The Lavender fleece bags sound heavenly. I have done MANY a lavender bag but never made them from fleece. A winner for sure. And I can’t grow lavender to save my life, so maybe you can share your secrets. (I’m told it’s idiot proof…..but I have never had luck with it – it’s a good thing I can grow so many other things)

Best wishes on your recovery. You sure have beat the odds my southern friend.

      Warmest Regards,
      Kathleen
